Dramatic Footage Captures Jewelry Store Heist
In a dramatic smash-and-grab robbery at PNG Jewelers in Sunnyvale, California, nearly 20 thieves ransacked the store in under three minutes on June 12. Surveillance footage shows the suspects using hammers and other tools to break in and destroy display cases before fleeing with an unknown amount of jewelry. Despite the chaos and extensive damage, no injuries were reported.
The suspects dispersed into multiple vehicles. Police pursued two suspect vehicles onto Highway 101 but lost track of both. During the chase, stolen jewelry was discarded from one of the cars. Eventually, officers located one of the vehicles, leading to the foot pursuit and arrest of five suspects, one of whom was apprehended by a police dog. The suspects face numerous charges, including armed robbery, felony vehicle evasion, resisting arrest, burglary, conspiracy, and vandalism.
