However, the emerging web3 movement, particularly the tokenization of real estate, offers a promising solution to these obstacles. Homeownership rates among millennials and Gen Z have significantly declined compared to previous generations, exacerbating economic inequality. Tokenization could make property investment more accessible, unlock liquidity in previously illiquid assets, and democratize access to investment opportunities, creating a more equitable and accessible housing market.

Despite its potential, the widespread adoption of real estate tokenization faces regulatory, technological, and resistance challenges from entrenched interests. Policymakers must collaborate with stakeholders to establish a regulatory framework that ensures transparency, security, and compliance. By leveraging blockchain technology, tokenization could dismantle barriers to homeownership, fostering a more affordable, transparent, and inclusive market for future generations.
