The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has confirmed that Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, the newly elected MP from Guntur and a political newcomer, will join the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government. At 48 years old, Pemmasani, a wealthy doctor with declared family assets over Rs 5,700 crore, won 344,695 votes in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, succeeding Galla Jayadev. His inclusion in Modi’s 3.0 cabinet marks a rapid rise in his political career and underscores TDP’s influence in Andhra Pradesh and its alliance with the BJP. Pemmasani’s medical background and financial expertise are expected to bring a fresh perspective to the government. Former TDP MP Jayadev Galla congratulated him on his new role as Minister of State.
