$1000 Tom Kingsbery Scholarships Now Open for Applications
Coleman County Telephone Cooperative, Inc. (CCTC) is now accepting applications for the $1000 Tom Kingsbery Scholarships. These scholarships are open for submission until July 1, 2024. Established in 1999 to honor Tom Kingsbery, a long-serving board member, the program awards three scholarships to college students from the CCTC service area.
Eligible students must have parents or guardians with active CCTC services, a minimum GPA of 2.5, have completed a year at a post-secondary institution, and demonstrate financial need. Requirements include a cover sheet with personal and educational information, a brief essay on how the scholarship will support their education/career goals, two letters of recommendation, a transcript, and a recent headshot (no selfies), all to be submitted via email by the deadline.
The scholarships are inclusive, disregarding race, creed, sex, or national origin, but are not available to children or grandchildren of CCTC directors or employees. The selection process is final, with recipients announced at the CCTC Annual Membership Meeting, and the funds are sent directly to the educational institution. For more details, applicants can call 348-3124.
