Microsoft is enhancing the Phone Link app on Windows 11 by introducing a feature that uses AI to suggest replies to SMS messages. This update, currently rolling out in preview to Windows Insider channels, enables users with an Android phone connected to their PC to receive three contextually relevant responses to choose from for instant reply. The suggested replies are generated using Microsoft’s cloud-based intelligent suggestions model, analyzing the content of the received message. This addition is part of Microsoft’s broader effort to integrate AI into its in-box Windows apps, including new “cocreator” features in Notepad and Paint, as well as a “Recall” app that organizes computer activity into searchable memories.
