Enhancing Restaurant Operations: Olo and TRAY Strengthen Partnership for Improved Guest Experiences

Olo, a restaurant technology provider, has expanded its partnership with TRAY to integrate Olo Pay card-present payment processing with TRAY’s point of sale (POS) system. This collaboration is part of a larger integration with the Olo Engage product suite, aimed at offering restaurants digitally personalized experiences for their guests. The partnership will facilitate automated menu synchronization through Olo Order integration, improving operational efficiency for restaurant owners. Additionally, TRAY will implement Olo’s Order Ready AI, a machine-learning tool designed to predict order readiness, thereby enhancing accuracy for guests and delivery providers.

The integration of Olo Pay with TRAY for card-present transactions will digitize on-premise payments, addressing common operational challenges such as reconciliation and refunds. This development is expected to provide guests with a straightforward payment process across various touchpoints, including personal devices, kiosks, mobile wallets, and credit card payments at the table or through the POS for full-service dining.

Furthermore, the Engage integration will enable restaurant brands using TRAY to consolidate digital and in-person interactions into a single guest profile, unlocking insights into customer behavior and preferences. Olo founder and CEO Noah Glass highlighted the importance of this collaboration, noting that despite the industry’s gradual shift towards digital, a significant portion of restaurant transactions remain offline. The partnership aims to bridge this gap by equipping restaurants with the necessary tools to increase orders, streamline operations, and create hyper-personalized experiences for every guest.

The new Olo integrations with TRAY, including the synchronization of menu data and the integration with Olo’s Order Ready AI API, are scheduled to become available in 2024.
