NVIDIA CEO Calls Business Data a ‘Gold Mine’
At the Databricks Data + AI Summit 2024, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang emphasized the crucial role of accelerated computing in transforming data processing and analytics, labeling business data as a “gold mine” for companies. In collaboration with Databricks cofounder and CEO Ali Ghodsi, Huang announced the integration of NVIDIA’s accelerated computing technology with Databricks Photon to boost performance and cost efficiency in data processing. This integration, developed over five years, aims to enhance Databricks SQL using NVIDIA’s capabilities in generative AI.
Moreover, Databricks’ open-source model DBRX is now available as an NVIDIA NIM microservice, facilitating easier deployment of generative AI models. Huang highlighted the importance of rapid adoption of generative AI technologies for businesses to stay competitive. The summit also featured sessions on generative AI development, CPU vs. GPU architecture analysis, and GPU-accelerated ML in Spark Clusters, inviting attendees to engage with NVIDIA experts on future AI and data intelligence trends.
