Joe Eskenazi Joins Kong as Chief Revenue Officer
Kong Inc., a prominent cloud API technology company, has appointed Joe Eskenazi as their new Chief Revenue Officer. Eskenazi will manage Kong’s global sales operations, including Direct Sales, Sales Engineering, Business Development, Channels, Revenue Operations, and Enablement, with the goal of scaling revenue and ensuring growth. With over 20 years of experience in business development and sales leadership, Eskenazi previously contributed to Sprinklr’s growth to over $700 million in annual recurring revenue and its IPO in June 2021.
Kong, which achieved over $100 million ARR in 2023 and serves around 700 commercial clients including major names like GlaxoSmithKline, Moderna, and PayPal, is poised for further expansion. Its open-source API gateway handles over 400 billion API calls daily and has been downloaded more than 340 million times. Kong recently launched an AI Gateway to meet the rising demand for AI solutions.
CEO Augusto Marietti expressed confidence in Eskenazi’s ability to drive global growth and meet ambitious targets, while Eskenazi himself highlighted his enthusiasm for contributing to Kong’s mission of empowering developers with a unified cloud API platform. Eskenazi’s extensive background includes leadership roles at various tech companies and an educational background from USC Marshall School of Business and the University of California, Santa Barbara.
