Musicians Union of Ghana Concludes Digital Skills Workshop Series in Tamale
The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) successfully concluded its workshop series titled ‘Leveraging Digital Tools to Generate Revenue’ with the final session taking place in Tamale on May 30 and 31, 2024. Sponsored by the Ghana Skills Development Fund (GSDF), this series aimed to equip musicians with the skills needed to thrive in the digital age and create sustainable income streams. Led by renowned industry expert Kwabena Ofei-Kwadey Nkrumah, known professionally as Kobby Spikey, the workshops covered essential topics such as content creation, online music distribution, and effective social media utilization.
Participants from across the country expressed gratitude for the valuable training received, highlighting the comprehensive nature of the program. MUSIGA officials, including General Secretary S.K Agyemang and Northern Regional Chairman Idris Baba, emphasized the significance of digital tools in reaching global audiences and the positive impact this initiative is expected to have on the careers of local musicians and the industry at large.
Further supporting the initiative, MUSIGA announced the establishment of a Technical Resource Centre at its Accra office. This center will offer ongoing support and resources, helping musicians navigate the digital landscape effectively. The successful completion of the workshop series and the establishment of the resource center underscore MUSIGA’s commitment to empowering Ghanaian musicians through education and the provision of essential tools for digital success.
