Azul Innovates with AI, Boosts Efficiency and Security

Azul Linhas Aéreas, one of Brazil’s leading airlines, has adopted a pioneering system aimed at enhancing its operational efficiency and securing corporate data. Felipe Starling, the IT Director of Azul, highlighted the rapid and positive internal feedback the system has garnered, significantly accelerating processes such as customer feedback and NPS analyses from weeks to minutes. The system, named AzulGPT, facilitates seamless information sharing among crew members across different bases, as reported by culture assistant Naelly Oliveira. It has notably expedited the creation of materials, campaigns, and forms, cutting down the time spent on these tasks by up to three days, thereby freeing up more time for strategic and creative planning.
AzulGPT operates within a secure, closed company environment on Microsoft Azure, ensuring compliance with protection and security requirements. Roberto Sória from Microsoft Brazil and Luiz Pirollo from Avanade Brasil both emphasized the solution’s role in enhancing productivity and ensuring responsible AI use within the best global practices for information security and privacy.
Azul is renowned for its extensive network and punctuality, offering 1,000 daily flights to over 160 destinations with a fleet of more than 180 aircraft. In 2023, it was recognized as the second most punctual airline globally by Cirium, and in 2020, it was awarded the title of the best airline in the world by TripAdvisor, marking a first for a Brazilian airline in the Traveller’s Choice Awards.
